Thomas E. Binford

Pendleton - Thomas E. Binford, 72, Pendleton, died May 9, 2003 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana after an extended battle with lung disease. He was born September 6, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and resided in Pendleton, Indiana. He lived in Pendleton since 1966. He retired from General Motors in 1987 with 32 years as a Tool & Die Welder in the ?Old Model Shop?. He served his country in the US Army during WWII as communications specialist. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union, Chesterfield American Legion, Chesterfield 40/8 and a ?Life Member of the National Rifle Association?. Tom was a loving person who delicately balanced and dedicated his life to family, friends and the ?Great Outdoors?. He was an avid motorcyclists, hunter and fisherman who enjoyed passing his enthusiasm and knowledge onto his children, the children of his friends and his grandchildren, always finding the time to teach and nurture in the ways of the outdoors and nature. He is survived by his One Son: Rick & wife Suzanne Binford of Monee, Illinois. One Daughter: Diana & husband Steve Johnson of St. Robert, Missouri. Two Brothers: Stanley & wife Lavonia Binford of LaBelle, Florida. David & wife Pam Dugle of Spring Hill, Florida. One Aunt: Hazel Kemper of Newport Richey, Florida. Seven Grandchildren: Rick Binford Jr & wife Kym of Palm Bay, Florida; Melissa Binford; Aaron Binford; Austin Binford, all of Alexandria. Matthew Binford of Carbondale, Illinois. Randi Johnson and Dakota Johnson, both of St. Roberts, Missouri. One Great Grandchild: Ayla Binford of Palm Bay Florida. Several Nieces & Nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife and best friend of 45 years: Ada Binford of Pendleton. Parents: Viola Dugle and Loren Binford. One Brother: Howard Dugle. Tom?s love for life, nature and kindness to all he knew will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends alike. Services will be 2:30 PM, Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Cremtory, South Chapel. 200 W. 53rd Street; Anderson, with Rev. Steve Wilkinson of Mounds Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson.
