Shirli A. Wicker

Anderson - Shirli A. Wagner Wicker, 66, Anderson, died September 21, 2004 at her residence after an extended illness. She was born October 23, 1937 in Ripley County, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. She lived in this area all of her life. She retired from St. John's Health System where she worked in Corporate Hall. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She was a former CASA worker for Madison County Courts, where she dedicated countless hours working with children. She volunteed at the Mustin Shelter and was involved in Relay for Life, as well, she was a member of Altrusa and was involved in the Mission Action Board at St. Johns. She loved to entertain and cook for her family and friends. She loved to dance. She is survived by her children: Kellie Wile-Bush & husband Mark of Indianapolis, Michael Wicker of Anderson, Kerrie ''Cookie'' Wicker of Anderson and Casey Wicker of Anderson. Grandchildren: Kristal McCorkle & husband Collin of Anderson, Kara Wile of Youngstown, Ohio and Brady Fisher of Anderson. Two Great Grandchildren: Kennedy & Kerrigan McCorkle of Anderson. Siblings: Margaret Parrish, George Wagner, Mary Bowling, Robert ''Bob'' Wagner, Chuck Wagner, Larry Wagner and Peggy Ledford. The children wish to give special thanks to Marie Wagner for her love, kindness and help caring for their mother. They would also like to acknowledge Hospice for their support. She was preceded by her parents: Charles & Flora Oshier Wagner. It was Shirli?s wishes to donate her body to science at the Indiana University Medical Center. A celebration of Shirli?s life Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 27, 2004 at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel; 200 W. 53rd Street; Anderson from 4-8:00 PM with a Celebration Service beginning at 6:00 PM. A Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church; 2801 Lincoln Street; Anderson on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be directed to the American Kidney Fund. Her race in this life is over. Her example serves for all who knew her. God has given to her eternal rest in His Kingdom. She has earned the respect of all who shared her life. She has in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren the love of ages.
