Richard B. McKinley

Richard B McKinley, 79, of Markleville, left his earthly body behind and walked through those golden gates into they arms of Jesus and joined the home coming celebration with loved ones waiting for him on October 8, 2016 at Community Hospital Anderson. He was born on June 17, 1937 in Anderson to Ralph J and Gladys (Camp) McKinley. Lifetime resident of the Anderson and Markleville area. He has been a barber in Markleville since 1956. Absent only when serving proudly with 101st Airborne Division of the US Army. He retired from Navistar International in 1997. He is a retired volunteer fireman for the Markleville Fire Department. He was a member of East Lynn Christian Church in Anderson, 50 year member of both the Markleville Masonic Lodge #629 and Order of Eastern Star #363 now Pendleton, American Legion and U.A.W. Local 98. He enjoyed being with family and friends. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Helen (Perry) McKinley of Markleville; 5 Daughters, Leesa (James) McIndoo of Markleville, Sandy (Friend James Short) Davidson of Markleville, Cindy (Dorin) Purkey of Pendleton, Nina (Dean) Gustin of Middletown, and Gina (Carlos) Vargas of Fishers; brother, Donald (Carol) McKinley of Noblesville; 10 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sister-in-Law, Marge McKinley of Bonita Springs, FL, Brother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law, Tom (Barb) Perry of Sulphur Springs, IN, Sister-in-Law, Debora Hill of Middletown. He was preceded in death by parents Ralph J and Gladys(Camp) McKinley; daughter, Angela McKinley; grandson, Brian M Ferrell; brother, James McKinley. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2016, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson, IN with a Masonic Service conducted at 7:00 PM by the Markleville Masonic Lodge #629. Services will be Thursday, October 13, 2016, 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastors Dan Bair and VJ Stover officiating. Military Graveside rites will be conducted by U.S. Army and American Legion in Middletown at the cemetery. Burial will take place in Green Hills Memory Gardens, New Castle.
