Marshia Gail Carson

Sidney, Ohio - Marshia Gail Joslin Carson, 59, died suddenly August 28, 2010 due to heart complications. Marshia was born May 31, 1951 in Newport, Arkansas to James D. Joslin and Alma Ruth Hobbs. When Marshia was six weeks old, the family moved to Anderson, Indiana where her father went to work for the Central Indiana Railroad. After finishing her schooling at Anderson Public Schools Marshia became a nanny for several years. She then moved to Indianapolis to work for the school system there in the Special Education Department, a job she loved dearly. Marshia loved kids of all ages, she loved to tell stories about herself and some of the silly situations she got herself into. She was humorous, enjoyed laughing and having a good time. She was a family girl, nothing was more fun than to be with family at cookouts or just hanging out. Marshia loved to travel, to crochet, cooking, eating out, flea markets, yard sales and her favorite, the Goodwill. She never met a stranger and could relate to anyone. Preceded in death by her husband, Billy Sutton; parents, James D. Joslin and Alma Hobbs; grandparents, Jiles & Ethel Joslin, Sidney & Evie Ray Stokes; sisters, Patricia True, Ethel Alarcon, Lisa Baker; step-mother, Mary Watson Joslin; niece, Shelly Ann. Survived by sister, Shirley Montgomery; brothers, Rick Joslin Debbie, Gary Joslin, James S. Joslin Mary; step-sisters, Gail Willmes, Jenny Hutchison, Belinda Rasweiler; nieces, Shawn King Dan, Dawn Joslin, Richelle Cox, Jobie and Ashton Joslin; nephews, Joe Alarcon Michell & Carlos Alarcon Caz; several great nieces and nephews and special cousins, Gina and Joslin Bronnenberg. Marshia also leaves her special companion, Doug Miller; his children; and his mother, ï¿½Miss Ruthï¿½ of Sidney, Ohio. Marshia also leaves her best friend, Tracy Garland of Indianapolis. Throughout the years, they have been there for each other and had many adventures together. Marshia leaves two special aunts, Bea of Lakeland, Florida and Aunt Montine of Searcy, Arkansas. Services will be Friday, September 3, 2010 from 11-1:00 PM at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory; 200 W. 53rd Street, with Pastor John Hackney and Pastor Dan King officiating. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
