JoAnn (Thetford) Albea, 61, died peacefully with her family in Indianapolis, IN on January 11th, 2014 after an extended illness. JoAnn is survived by her husband Timothy Albea of Anderson, IN; her three children and spouses, Pete Albea of Kansas City, KS; Jennifer (Craig) Polackin of Fishers, IN; and Julie (Scott) Henderson of Indianapolis, IN; their four grandchildren: Jacob, Alyssa, Tyler and Nicholas Polackin. She is also survived by her siblings: Diane (David) Ashley, Willena Jacobs, Billy (Melissa) Thetford; her in-laws: Hubert and Phyllis Albea; and brother and sister in-laws David (Mary) Albea, Butch (Leeta) Albea, Sandy (Bill) Cunningham, Janet (Allen) Greg. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Willie and Doris Thetford. JoAnn was born on November 21, 1953 in San Antonio, TX to Willie and Doris Thetford. She graduated from John Jay High School (San Antonio, TX) in 1971, Ball State University in 1992 with a degree in Social Work and received her Masters in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2009. She was introduced to Tim of Anderson, IN while in town visiting her sister. They wed in 1973, and were happily married for 41 years and raised their three children in Anderson. They were members of South Meridian Church of God, where the family was very involved with the youth and other groups, and currently attend Northview Church in Carmel, IN. JoAnn was employed at the Hopewell Center prior to becoming a Medical Social Worker at St. John’s Hospital. As a Medical Social Worker for St. John’s for 20 years where she worked with in Home Health Care. She was very involved and with other local organizations, including Madison County Triad and Senior Link. She was very passionate and advocated for senior health care and welfare. JoAnn was a generous and caring individual who loved to help and work with her family, friends, and people in the community. A funeral is scheduled for Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 11:30 AM at Robert D Loose Funeral Home at 200 W. 53rd St. in Anderson with Pastor Ryan Thetford officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 4-8:00 PM at the funeral home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate JoAnn's life. Burial will be in Grovelawn Cemetery-Pendleton.
