James J. Snyder

James (Jim) Joseph Snyder, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away at Franciscan Health Indianapolis on September 7, 2023. He was born on June 12, 1940, in Woodbridge, New Jersey, residing in Sebring Florida the past 15 years and Ohio for nearly 2 years before returning to Indianapolis. Jim graduated high school in New Jersey and served his country in the United States Army. After serving, Jim went on to a career in the car business serving many dealerships in numerous roles over the years. After retiring from the car business Jim and his wife Pat took advantage of an opportunity to operate a small hotel together in Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida for nearly ten years before relocating to Sebring, Florida. Jim was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and an avid fan of the Tampa Bay Rays. Jim loved spending time with his family and insisted on ensuring a gathering was on the books anytime he was able to be in Indianapolis. Jim is survived by his sisters Julia Achimovic of Port Reading NJ, and Ethel (Frank) Murchison, of Jackson, TN, and brother Charles Snyder of Leesville, LA. Children, Debbie (Neal) Carman, Christie Snyder, Richard (Dawn) Snyder, and Terry Snyder. Ten grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia Ann Snyder, who passed on September 3, 2023; and parents, Allen, and Julia Snyder of Pittsgrove, New Jersey, brother Al Snyder of Pittsgrove, New Jersey and sister Theresa Snyder of Sewaren, New Jersey Per Jim's request, cremation will take place. Services will consist of a celebration of life on Saturday, September 23, 2023, between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. We will celebrate together at 8831 Stonebriar Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46259.
