Herschell O Miller

Anderson - Herschell O Miller, 83, Anderson, died February 15, 2008 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus-Anderson after an extended illness. He was born April 25, 1924 in Frankton, and resided in Anderson. He has lived in the Frankton and Anderson area all of his life. He also spent many enjoyable years in Bradenton, Florida. He retired from Delco Remy division of General Motors in 1974 after 33 years of service. He was a 1942 graduate of Frankton High School He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was also the receipent of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Frankton Masonic Lodge #607. He was a past Worthy Patron of the Frankton O.E.S. A charter member and life member of the Frankton American Legion #467. A life member of D.A.V. in Bradenton, Florida and the VFW in Elwood. He was also a member of the 40 & 8. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn Farmer Miller. A daughter, Deborah Mills and husband Charles of Anderson. A sister, Wilma Bebee of Inman, South Carolina, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law; George & Kay Krall of Anderson and a sister-in-law, Addie Miller of Largo, Florida. A grandson, Todd and wife Susan Bozell of Pendleton. Two great grandsons, Noah A. and Luke J. Bozell of Pendleton. Three step grandchildren; Gary Mills and wife Karla of Anderson, Mark Mills of Anderson, and Teresa House and husband Kevin of Anderson. Also surviving are four step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and a special friend Marye Smith of Anderson. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Bethany Pointe, especially Joe Gouker. He was preceded by in death by his parents; Ed and Chloe Girton Miller. Two sisters; Naomi Webb and Martha Miller. Two brothers; Gerald Miller and Donald Miller. Services will be Wednesday February 20, 2008 at 10:00 am, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes- South Chapel, with Rev. Al Covell and Kent Stookey officiating. Burial will be in K of P I.O.O.F. Cemetery-Frankton. Military Rites will be by the VFW #266. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday Febraury 19, 2008 at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes- South Chapel.
