Anderson - Gerald L. ''Jerry'' Stoner, 86, Anderson, died July 12, 2002 at Countryside Manor, Anderson after after an extended illness. He was born March 20, 1916 in Butler, Pennsylvania, and resided in Anderson, IN. lived in Anderson since 1944. He was a sales clerk @ Sears Roebuck Co., retiring in 1980 after 32 yrs of employment. He graduated from Elwood City High School in Elwood City, Pennsylvania He joined the U.S. Army in 1938 and was stationed in Panama. During his enlistment, he also served in the Calvary Horse Patrol and worked as a cook. He enjoyed growing flowers and being pen pals with people in other countries. He enjoyed traveling and making crafts. He was a member of Gem & Mineral Club in Anderson. He always had a hobby. He was a volunteer at St. John's Hospital for 11 yrs. He also enjoyed eating breakfast at Cracker Barrel He is survived by his wife of 56 years, whom he married January 25, 1946, Helen Jean Noland Patton Stoner. A son, Dennis Stoner of Elwood, a stepson, William B. Patton of Anderson; a sister, Mary Jane Oberholtzer of Ohio; a sister-in-law, Rose Stoner of Elwood City, PA; grandchildren: Elyna Stoner of Indianapolis and Megan Stoner of Elwood; stepgrandchildren: Tamara husband Christopher Dengate of Ferndale, MI, Dawn Michelle Sanders of Indianapolis, and Nathan Allen Patton of MI; great grandson, Harlan John Phillips; step greatgrandchildren: Stephanie Dengate, Nicholas Dengate, Brant Sanders, Kamryn Sanders & Luke Sanders; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are close friends, Gene & Mary Flook of Anderson and Nancy Stoner of Indianapolis He was preceded by his Parents: Ben & Vallie McAnallen Stoner; two brothers and two sisters Services will be Monday, July 15, 2002 at 1:00 PM, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, South Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson . Visitation will be from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Monday, July 15, 2002 at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
