"Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 On Sunday, September 4th, 2022, our dear mother, Connie L. (McDaniel) Allen, was finally given her heavenly reward, and was taken into her eternal rest, and her suffering and pain are all in the past now. She is with her loved ones she's missed terribly. She's with her Lord and she has a brand new beautiful body with no pain, no misery, and her suffering is over. The Lord has blessed us with 75 years with her, full of joy and love. Connie gave her heart to God on April 15th, 1962, and has shared her spirit and faith with all who she has met. Connie has been met at the gates by her cherished grandson, Jordon Thomas Bragg, and her true love William (Bill) Allen. She has also been reunited with her parents, who she lost many years ago, and missed terribly. With the many, many health issues and medical conditions she was afflicted with, she still had a spirit of perseverance, determination, unwavering strength, and faith. Connie has proven over the past decade that she would fight as hard as she could, and she amazed everyone who knew her with her bright smile, a caring, giving heart, and an unbelievable positive attitude, no matter what she was going through. She still always tried to bless others, regardless of her own battles. Always a smile for anyone who came across her path, and at several different medical facilities, she was always known as "the favorite patient" by so many who cared for her. Connie married William Bryson in 1967, after a 2 year courtship. They shared seven years together and had their wonderful daughter Kelly Jo in 1969. Kelly has been the light of Connie's life from the moment she held her in her arms. Kelly was her source of strength and determination after her relationship with William Bryson sadly ended. Connie worked hard for her baby girl, taking a job at Pizza King where she worked for over a decade. She blessed many people in her time as a store manager and day shift leader from 1973 to 1988, at several locations throughout Anderson. Her coworkers and costumers became her second family. Little did she know it would be the catalyst to her happy ever after! Pizza King on Madison Ave, is where Connie met her second husband and soul mate William Allen. A charismatic delivery driver at this location would sweep her away with his charm and loving nature. Their relationship blossomed and soon enough little Kelly Jo was scattering flowers down the isle as Connie committed her love and life to William Allen. Their family was complete! In 1983 Connie started her second job, a 365 days-a-year job, delivering newspapers for the Anderson Herald bulletin, taking only one or two vacations in over a decade. In 1988, Connie began her first and only factory job at Printed Wiring Technologies. She Connie worked there for 5 years as a quality control officer, inspecting circuit boards until the company closed. In 1990, Connie's little girl met the man with whom she would spend the rest of her life. Kelly and Terry were inseparable and Connie was overjoyed with the news that her baby girl was in love! Connie quickly came to love Terry as her own. Over the past 30 years Connie and Terry have had an unbreakable bond. Connie would not only tell you that Terry is her son-in-law but, he is her est friend. Things were great and about to get better! Connie had always wanted to be a stay at home mother to Kelly, however she was not able to, due to the need of supporting her daughter by working two jobs. In 1991, her first grandson, Tyler William Bragg was born. She was thrilled! Finally she was able to be the stay at home grandmother she always longed to be. A few short months later, 11 to be exact, Jordan Thomas Bragg was born. Connie adored being able watch her grandsons daily. She kept the boys busy teaching them respect, kindness and even the value of a dollar! Tyler and Jordan went on paper routes with their Mamaw on several occasions and they loved it. The boys thrived while being in the presence of their Mamaw. She was with them every step of the way as they grew into young men. She encouraged both Jordan and Tyler in their love for music. She loved and supported Tyler who played bass Guitar in his Christian rock band. She loved when Jordan would sing her favorite song. Connie is survived by her loving daughter and her "son-in-law” Terry. After they celebrated their 30th year anniversary, September 1,2022, their bond was nothing like IN LAWS! He was her rock, as much as he was Kelly's, and became the man of the house after Bill passed away. She is survived by three grandsons, Tyler Bragg, Tony Bragg and Damian Feller; six great grandchildren, including her baby dolls, Taelynn Ranae Bragg, and Keighton Thomas Bragg, the two she was closest too, and they each had their own special bond. Her baby sister, Pam Blueher, and her three sons, Branden Songer (Jim Longfellow), Justin (Audrey) Singer, and Tommy (Katie) Harmon. Connie has been met at the gates by her cherished grandson, Jordon Thomas Bragg, and her true love, Bill Allen. She was also proceeded in death by her parents, Harold Thomas McDaniel and Ruth Ellen McDaniel. Mom, you'll never be forgotten. You'll always be missed, by every single person that knew you and loved you. We were ALL touched and blessed by the essence of your sweet giving spirit, your sense of humor that "NEVER WAS ELDERLY" (a constant inside joke between us) And we are ALL the better for knowing you.
