Alan Coppock

Alan Keith Coppock, a proud United States Marine and a man of many talents, passed away on May 6, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on January 21, 1954, Alan lived a life marked by strength, service, and a deep commitment to those he loved. After serving his country with honor in the U.S. Marine Corps, Alan brought that same discipline and determination to everything he did. A true jack of all trades, he had a knack for fixing just about anything—often teaching himself how by watching YouTube videos. Whether he was under the hood of a car or tackling a home project, Alan’s hands were always busy and his mind curious. He loved fishing and hunting with family and friends. Known for his stubborn streak and sharp sense of humor, Alan was the kind of man who could make you laugh even while telling you exactly how things should be done. He was endlessly resourceful, fiercely independent, and deeply loved by those fortunate enough to know him. Alan is survived by his children, Nathan Coppock (Jessica), Jeremy Coppock, Brandon Coppock (Cristin), and Sarah Smith (Cody); and by his siblings, Raymond Hicks (Nancy) and Mariena Williams (Bob). He was a proud grandfather to Kyleigh Coppock, Gavin Coppock, Jeniveve Trueblood, Lillian Trueblood, Kaylee Coppock, Matthew Coppock, Piper Coppock, Heather Coppock, and Wyatt Smith, and a loving great-grandfather to Emerald Stokes, Topaz Stokes, and Alice Trueblood. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Roberta Coppock, and his grandparents, Roy Edward Gibson and Oma Vernice Gibson. A celebration of Alan’s life will be held on July 5th, 2025, at Prairie Creek Reservoir in Muncie, Indiana. Friends and family are invited to join in sharing food, laughter, and stories in honor of Alan’s memory. The family is also creating a book of memories and invites anyone with photos, stories, or memories of Alan to contribute; if you would like to write memories in your hand writing and signature, send a photocopy to the email.
