Viola ''Vi'' Rosencrans

Anderson - Viola ''Vi'' Davis Rosencrans, 82, Anderson, died May 22, 2005 at Community Hospital, Anderson after an extended illness. She was born January 31, 1923 in Holton, Indiana, and moved to Anderson and was a lifelong resident. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother. She also worked at Delco Remy Division of General Motors, retiring in 1983. She was a graduate of Ozgood High School, class of 1942. Upon graduation, she received the Tri Kappa award for having the highest scholastic average in her class. She was a member of Fifth Street United Methodist Church. She had many duties there; including treasurer, administrative board, trustee and various committees. She was a former treasurer of the Conservation Club Auxiliary, and a member of Order of the Eastern Star #154. One of the activities she loved was belonging to R.S.V.P. and making Love Bears for traumatized children. She worked on the election board for many years and everyone enjoyed seeing her at the polls. She loved nature, the outdoors, flowers and birds especially bluebirds. One of her special talents that she took joy in, was fixing things. If she had a screwdriver and chewing gum, she could put anything back together. She got such satisfaction out of doing these things and always amazed all of us with her talent. She dedicated her life to helping others and was always there to help anyone who needed her. She touched everyone she met in a special way, and everyone loved her. She was such a treasure in her family and friends lives. We will miss her so much. She is survived by her son, J.R. ''Rosey'' & wife Linda Paulette Rosencrans of Anderson; daughter, Rebecca ''Becky'' Rosencrans of Bow, Washington; ten grandchildren, Lance & wife Lori Rosencrans of Peru, Scott & wife Jessica Rosencrans of Pendleton, Lynsey Rosencrans of Chicago, Illinois, Cassie Rosencrans of Bradenton, Florida, Dylan Hively, Erin Hively, Austin Barnes all of Bow, Washington, Autumn & husband Andy Coxe of Anderson, Jessica & husband Ryan Gray of Indianapolis and Brady Carr of Anderson; six great grandchildren, Autumn Chamness of Anderson, Shelby Rosencrans of Pendleton, Madison Ozbun and Katie Gray both of Indianapolis, Nicholas Coxe and Lucas Coxe both of Anderson and Lliam Rosencrans of Peru. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis William Rosencrans; two sons, Larry William Rosencrans and John Paul Rosencrans; her parents, Jesse & Rosa Tempest Davis; four brothers and her dearest friend, Ann Wright. As per her request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date to be announced by the family. Cremation will take place.
