Terry Ray West

Terry Ray West, 68, native of Anderson, passed away unexpectedly on April 3, 2023. He was born on August 11, 1954. Terry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and coach. Terry graduated from Anderson High School in 1972 and from Anderson University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1977. Terry was a jack-of-all-trades, but he had a passion for helping others. He most recently worked as the President of WestLink Consulting, SHIP, and Trinity Free Clinic as a Patient Healthcare Advocate and Navigator. Through SHIP, Terry belonged to the Good Samaritan Network of Hamilton County. Terry also dedicated over 35 years of his life to coaching a plethora of sports at a variety of levels from elementary to high school. He was also a member of Eastside Church of God. Terry was always willing to talk with anyone and would fire off a corny joke to start the conversation. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Purdue Boilermakers and Chicago White Sox. Terry’s biggest passion was basketball which was clear in the way he spoke about the game, studied every detail, and coached his teams. Terry was also passionate about theater, performing on various stages in a variety of roles. He had a huge heart for animals and had a green thumb. Out of all of Terry’s accomplishments, his greatest joy in life came from the love he had for his two daughters and grandchildren. Terry is survived by his wife, Yolanda (Gamez) West, daughter, Cambrie (Ryan) Anderson, daughter, Corissa (Kaley May) West, sister, Sherry Moss, and grandchildren, Liv, Colt, and Axl Anderson. He was preceded in death by his father, Noble H. West, and his mother, Donna J. West. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Loose Funeral Home (200 West 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013). The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Kerry Robinson officiating at Loose Funeral Home. The burial will follow after in the Knights of Pythias I.O.O.F. Cemetery (Southeast corner of Washington St. and Clyde St. in Frankton).
