Stephen A. La Shure

Stephen A. La Shure, 72, of Anderson, passed away on May 25 th , 2025 at the Woodland Nursing Facility Muncie, IN. He was born on July 29 th , 1952 in Anderson, Indiana and resided most of his life in Anderson. Stephen graduated from Anderson High School in 1970 and attended Ball State University. He worked for St. John’s Hospital for 34 years, the last position was as a Purchasing Agent before it became St. Vicent Hospital. He eventually became a School Bus Driver for Anderson Community Schools (Abbco, LLC.) and retired after 7 years of service. He was an avid bowler, participating in several leagues at Eastside Bowling Center as well as holding a coaching position for 30+ years on the Saturday morning youth league. He taught the Gateway/Hopewell Adults/Youth bowling as well. He was an empire for Men’s softball for the Anderson Men’s Softball League (ASA: Amateur Softball Association). As a young man he participated in Scouts and became an Eagle Scout. Camping was a normal weekend activity at Lost Lake Campground, along with following all kinds of sports. Stephen is survived by his loving spouse whom he married 48 years ago, Carol (Nevin) La Shure, daughters, Courtney Ann (Eric) Greene, Stephanie Christine La Shure, grandchildren, Mason, Olivia, Mariah, Owen, Gabriel & Lilliana. As well as several nieces and nephews including Brandon, Bridget (Marcos & Alex) & Justin Morgan; Mike (Makiko) Boyle, Terry (Silvana) Boyle (Son, Leo Boyle), preceded in death, Christopher Boyle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy & Mona La Shure, his sister Sandy (David) Boyle, sister-in-law Debra (Duane) Morgan and in-laws, Betty (Nevin) and Paul Teter. Cremation has been chosen with a private family celebration of life being held on June 27 th , 2025. It will be held at Millcreek Civic Center in Chesterfield, IN. from 3pm-7pm. The family welcomes any & all members of the programs he participated in, as they wish to celebrate the life of their loving husband, father, and grandfather. Loose Funeral Home has assisted in making these arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray the cost of future college educations for his grandchildren.
