Sandra R. Hahn

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra R. Hahn (Smith). Sandy Hahn brought her light to this world on April 11, 1946, and left it all the dimmer, at the age of 78, on November 13, 2024, when she passed away due to unexpected complications from a medical procedure. Sandy Hahn loved people and people loved her. She loved music and was a talented vocalist and dancer. She, like her brother Dan Smith, and her sister Debbie Tudor (Smith), graduated from Muncie South High School in Muncie, Indiana. Over the years, Sandy maintained many long and meaningful relationships with classmates from her and her siblings’s classes. She married James L. Hahn, Jr. (Jim Hahn) in 1968. Together they raised three children, Stephanie Jane Hahn, Christopher Lee Hahn, and Jeremiah Avery Hahn. They resided in Anderson, Indiana for the majority of their lives together, where they were family-focused, devoted to one another, and determined to make this world a better place than they found it. She and Jim, who preceded her in death in 2014, were actively involved in their children’s and grandchildren’s lives. While they loved their children, they absolutely adored their grandchildren, Caelan Kendall-Hahn, Zachary Hahn, Elizabeth Hahn, Alyssa Hahn, Oliver Hahn, and Cameron Hahn. It is only fitting that they all have Jim Hahn’s light blue/gray eyes and Sandy Hahn’s high cheekbones and bright smile. In her professional life, Sandy worked for more than thirty years at the Social Security Administration in Muncie, Indiana where she started at an entry-level customer service position and worked her way up to Assistant Manager of the office. Of course, her immediate supervisor, the Manager of the office, readily admitted that Sandy was the real manager of the office (and him). Throughout her career at the SSA, she mentored many of her talented colleagues and formed long lasting and enduring relationships with many of her co-workers, managers and subordinates. Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, Lois R. Smith, and her father, Melvin D. Smith. She is survived by her children: Stephanie Jane Hahn, (The Cheese Stands Alone), Christopher Lee Hahn (Angie Hahn) and Jeremiah Avery Hahn (Caitlin Hahn), her grandchildren: Caelan Kendall-Hahn, Zachary Hahn, Elizabeth Hahn, Alyssa Hahn, Oliver Hahn, and Cameron Hahn, her brother, Daniel L. Smith, her sister Deborah J. Tudor (Richard), her nephew Daniel L. Tudor (Beth), her niece, Natalie Guzman (Jon) and her great nephews Conner Mougeotte, Miles Tudor, Mason Tudor, and great nieces Tori Guzman and Faith Guzman. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Loose Funeral Home, 200 West 53rd St., Anderson, Indiana 46013.
