Anderson - Ruth Evelyn Hook McAshlan, 84, Anderson, died November 4, 2002 at Rawlins House, Pendleton after an extended illness. She was born in Alexandria, Indiana on August 31, 1918, the second eldest of eight children to Lawrence Hencil & Elizabeth Ellen Wood Hook and resided in Anderson. She was a Madison County resident all of her life and a resident of Anderson since 1938. She retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors as an inspector at Plant 10 in 1978 after 30years of employment. She was a 1936 graduate of Frankton High School. She was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church, UAW Local #662, Jolly Keenagers at Grace Baptist Church, Senior Saints at Victory Baptist Church, Circle 4 Meadowbrook Baptist Women and Delco Remy Fellowship Club. She was also a member of Christian Center Auxilliary, the Killbuck Retiree Recreational Club, the Isabella Society, Anderson Fine Arts Center and Madison County Association for Mental Health. She is survived by her three daughters, Marilyn Bilbrey of Anderson, Nancy & husband Jack Campbell of Middletown and Ruth Ann & husband Richard Russell of Markleville; one son, George Dennis McAshlan of Indianapolis; three sisters, Florence & husband Harlan Daily of Forsyth, MO, Betty Abel of Hartville, MO and Elizabeth Barnes of Muncie; two sisters-in-law, Frances Hook of Alexandria and Pauline Hook of Anderson; two grandaughters, Jill & husband Danny Pugsley of Middletown, Rene & husband George Arndt of Zionsville; six grandsons, Jeff & wife Kim Campbell of Middletown, Teddy & wife Angie Campbell of Brownsville, Rex Bilbrey of Los Angeles,CA, Rick Bilbrey of Anderson, Troy Hale of Anderson and Andy Russell of Indianapolis; nine great granddaughters, five great grandsons, several nieces and nephews and many close friends She was preceded by her preceded in death by her husband of 48 years George Alvin McAshlan whom she married January 9, 1938, her parents Lawrence Hencil & Elizabeth Ellen Wood Hook, three brothers, Jesse Hook, Archie Hook and Walter Hook and a son-in-law, Donald Bilbrey. Services will be Friday, November 8, 2002 at 10:00 AM, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Dennis Zirkle of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and PastorJohn Davis of Markleville East Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2002 at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, South Chapel.
