Robert (Bobby) Allen Jarvis January 10, 1955 – September 1, 2022 Marion, IN - It is with great sadness that Robert Allen Jarvis, 67, our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away at the VA Hospital after a long battle with Huntington’s Disease. Even with his everyday ongoing struggles, Bobby continued to be strong, and he never gave up. He would still be himself, full of orneriness, to see him smile and laugh was the best medicine in the world, and he had a never-ending loving attitude. God has now taken Bobby to those who have fallen asleep before him and our memories of him will forever be cherished. Bobby was born in Anderson IN, a son to Bobby Keith and Esther Pauline (Lawhon) Jarvis. He lived in Anderson until joining the US Army in September ‘1972 at the age of 17. He completed his military service on October ‘1974 where he was stationed most of his time at Fort Greely, AK. While serving his country he worked as a construction & utility worker. After his service with the US Army, he worked for General Motors in Anderson, IN. He then moved to Albany and Atlanta GA to continue working for General Motors and retiring after 28 years. Bobby loved life and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, playing pool, his greatest passion was playing the drums and being in a band back in the day, he loved taking his kids to concerts, his choice in music was 80’s rock and roll and his favorite musicians and songwriter was Prince, an artist he loved to listen to over the years. Bobby’s favorite football team was the Kansas City Chiefs and loved watching the games, drinking his sweet tea, and eating his favorite foods. His favorite vacation spot was FL where he would get away to relax and enjoy the Ocean. Bobby loved his pets and was a great animal lover. Most of all, Bobby treasured his family who always came first, and he would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. Bobby will be missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known him. Bobby is survived by his daughter, Shawnda (Mike) Johnston (Indianapolis IN); son, Nathan Jarvis (Albany GA); brother, Rodney Jarvis (Lebanon OR); sister, Denise (John) Blevins (Anderson IN); grandchildren (Albany GA), Taylor Dean, Keaton Jarvis, Blair Jarvis, Karina Johnston, Nyla Johnston, Rebekka Johnston; (Indianapolis, IN); great-grandchildren (Albany GA), twins Paisley and Maria Dean, Taylor Jr. Dean, Karsyn Jarvis, Dawson Jarvis, and several nieces and nephews. The family is very grateful to the staff at the VA Hospital/Hospice Care Unit. The staff became Bobby’s second family who provided excellent medical care and showed much love.
