Robert M. Bain

On Thursday, May 2nd, 2024, Robert (Bob) Bain, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 74. He was preceded in death by his parents Mark and Margaret (Copenhaver) Bain, siblings Larry, Judy, Jerry, Sally, and son-in- law Steve Craig. He is survived by his wife Andrea (Fridley), children Jacinda Brown (Matthew), Melia Craig, grandchildren Katie and Ryan Craig, sisters Sonia King and Vickie Arbuthnot, brother-in-law Charlie Fridley, sister-in-law Cindy Bain, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was born July 16th, 1949, and raised in Distant, Pennsylvania. He was a standout football player, who was recruited by Anderson University to play football. Shortly after, Bob met the love of his life, Andrea, and settled down to start a family. He worked as a member of the management team at Kroger for many years, retiring after 43yrs. He had a love and passion for the outdoors, yard work, and gardening. He was able to fully enjoy those hobbies after his retirement. Bob also enjoyed the many trips he and his wife took over the years, and especially to Las Vegas. He liked spending time with their daughter, son-in-law Matthew, and the grand puppies, whom he loved dearly. He also loved visiting the many casinos, restaurants, and activities the city had to offer. One of his favorite spots was the Silverton Casino, where he hoped to win “Big Money.” Bob cherished the many memories of the family vacations he took. He always loved going to Myrtle Beach, spending time on the Boardwalk, and walking along the ocean. Bob enjoyed everyday life as he did on vacations, to the fullest. He had such a kind and lighthearted personality, making sure others were taken care of before himself. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Bob was seen as a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. Bob enjoyed spending time passing down his knowledge of golf, as he was an avid player himself. He taught his grandchildren Katie and Ryan how to play, and absolutely loved watching them both excel. He was always proud to tell people how his grandchildren went on to play at the collegiate level. In honor of his memory, there will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, May 19th, 2-4 pm, at Loose Funeral Home and Crematory (Community room at The Carriage House) 200 W. 53 St. Anderson, IN.
