Phyllis R. Grieb

Anderson-Phyllis R. Grieb passed on April 27, 2011 at her home after an extended illness. She was born July 11, 1929, in Anderson, Indiana to Dallas B. and Evelyn C. Richardson. She lived in Anderson her entire life graduating from Anderson High School class of 1947. She was a homemaker. After her children were raised, she worked at Linencrest, Delco Remy for a short time, and graduated from LPN school, Ball State in 1982. She then worked for Dr. Jack Moore until her retirement in 1984. Phyllis was a member of 5th Street United Methodist Church for several years and now Lindberg Road Church of Christ where she taught children's Bible classes, participated in a card ministry and served in the Anderson Christian School Associates. She loved to play cards with her Bridge Club, dominoes with her '47 classmates, enjoyed swimming, walking, and fishing with her husband, reading, and doting on her great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Sidney "Sande" S. Grieb; three daughters, Cindy Soden Charlie, and Shelly Drennon Roger both of Anderson, and Jenny Stangle of Goodyear, Arizona; four grandsons, Clint Soden Katie of Fishers, IN, Chad Soden Michelle of Anderson, Cory Stangle Natalie of Avondale, AZ and Jesse Stangle of Litchfield Park, Arizona; four great grandchildren, Katelyn Doan of Fishers, Josua Soden and Rachel Soden of Anderson, and Evan Stangle of Arizona; sister, Janet Cheever Harold of Anderson and her daughters, Laura Hill Larry of Anderson and their sons, Colin and Graham Hill; and Dianna Cheever of Shelbyville and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and their wives, Robert Lou, Don Jo and Fred Mid; and a granddaughter, Kelli Melissa Johnston. The family would like to thank all her caregivers at Community Hospital, Community Northview, and St. John's Health System Hospice. Visitation will be from 2-4:00 pm, Saturday, April 30, 2011 with a Celebration of Life service to be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, April 30, 200 at the Lindberg Road Church of Christ; 2625 Lindberg Road; Anderson.
