Paul E. Malone

Paul Eugene Malone, 94, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away on January 7, 2023, at Saint Vincent Regional Hospital. Paul departed life peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born August 18, 1928, in New Castle, Indiana, to Lee & Leah Malone. He attended New Castle schools graduating on May 28, 1948, from New Castle High School. Paul was a United States Army Veteran proudly serving his country during the Korean War. He worked and retired as a skilled tool maker for Delco Remy Division of General Motors after over 30 years of service. Paul was one of the most selfless, kind-hearted, sweetest, loving, & caring people you could ever meet. He loved unconditionally; always putting everyone before himself. He was born for love and zest for life, family, and friends. Seeing everyone around him happy made Paul happy. In his earlier years, Paul loved to travel and was a true outdoorsman. If you couldn't find him, he was probably out camping in the wilderness, climbing a mountain, jogging on a trail, or out on a boat. Paul was an avid reader and extremely knowledgeable. He had a large collection of books and had read every one. Favorites he would read several times, and he also loves his Sudoku puzzles. You never saw Paul without a smile. We are going to miss him dearly, but his memories will live in our hearts forever. Paul is survived by his son, Gary (Nickie) Smith of Muncie; daughter, Linda Smith (Bob) of Winchester, son, Roger Smith (Renee) of Fort Wayne, and David Roysden and Allen Roysden; special friend, Dave Burris of Muncie; nephew, Bob Jackson of Kansas City; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces. Paul was proceeded in death by his parents; his wife of 33 yrs, Virgie Malone; sister, Maxine Jackson; special companion of 26 years, Zora Smith; step-sons; Kirby, Sam, and Fred. Visitation will be held Friday, January 13, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street, Anderson Indiana. Services will follow visitation at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. The burial will take place in South Mound Cemetery, New Castle. www.loosecares.com.
