Mary Jane Ryan

On a beautiful spring morning , “the One that left her here, returned for her at last”. Our dear mother and grandmother, Mary Jane Carroll Ryan, made her transition peacefully on April 27, 2015. Mom was born on March 22, 1934 in Anderson, IN, but had made Pendleton her home for the past 52 years. She was the daughter of Leland Gerald Carroll and Edith Goldie Sturgeon Carroll. She was the sister of Lenora Wainscott and Gerald Carroll. Mom married the love of her life, Charles Patrick Ryan on December 18, 1953. They were married until his passing on March 21, 2001. Mary Jane and Pat have five children: Kim Kimura, Andrew Ryan (Lori), Ann Williams (Nash), Adam Ryan (deceased), and Liz Robinson (Pat). She is survived by 10 grandchildren: Marc Ryan, Eric Ryan, Hannah Hall (Cory), Whitney Williams, Molly Wright (Derek), Oliver Williams, Indiana Kimura, Dylan Robinson, Natalie Williams and Sam Robinson. Mary Jane has one great-grandchild: Ayden Ryan, with Baby Hall expected in June. She is also survived by George, Jason, Jager and Janna Kimura and their children. Our Mom was one-of-a-kind. She was beautiful, classy, and stylish from sunglasses to shoes. Mom was an amazing artist and created many beautiful paintings over the years. She loved to dance, especially with her kids, and could usually outlast all of us. She was full of love, light, and energy and shared it willingly with everyone. She is loved beyond measure and will be missed by all of us that are left behind. Mom enjoyed traveling with Dad. They spent many winters in Myrtle Beach, SC and Orange Beach, AL after retirement. They made many trips out west to see their daughters, Kim and Ann who live in Salt Lake City, UT. They panned for gold in Montana, went to Laughlin and Las Vegas. They had a wonderful life together. Since Dad passed away, her greatest joy has been spending time with her children, grandchildren, and beloved dog, Danny Boy O'Ryan. An outdoor memorial service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 1:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life to follow from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Robert D. Loose Community Room, 200 West 53rd Street, Anderson, IN 46013. In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to donate to The ALS Association or to The American Cancer Society. Our mother, Mary Jane, came to this life with a purpose, and that purpose was to teach us how to love each other unconditionally. This is her legacy “Come on people now, smile on your brother. Everybody get together, try to love one another RIGHT NOW!".
