Mary A. Devaney

Anderson - Mary A. Dilkey Devaney, 86, Anderson, died August 19, 2007 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born January 25, 1921 in Muskegon, Michigan, and resided in Anderson most of her life. She retired in 1984 from General Motors after 29 years of service. Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Indiana Democratic Party, UAW Local #662 Region 3, UAW #662 Retirees, UAW #662 Cap Council, Roosevelt Kennedy Club, UAW 662 Women's Committee and Civil Rights Committee. She was awarded the Walter P. Ruther Award in 1990. Mary was a life member of the Madison County Womens Democratic Club. She served on the Vance Hartkey Election Committee, Rolland Webber Election Committee, Evan & Burch Bayh Election Committees, National Council of Senior Citizens and Indiana State Council of the UAW Local #662. She was a past member of Kappa Sigma Beta and participated in the UAW Local #662 blood draws and cheese giveaways. She is survived by her children: Phillip Rebecca Devaney, Patricia Jerry Earlywine, Carolyn Devaney, Reva Dennis McCammon, William Michaelle Devaney and Eugene Devaney. Grandchildren: Kym Scott Dewitt, Scott Tracy Devaney, Bryon Teresa Earlywine, Nicole George Eppl, Michael Lili Devaney, Marcus Melanie Devaney, Katucha Devaney, Jessica Danny Duncan, Joshua Devaney, Steven Devaney, Micheal McCammon, Chad McCammon, Matthew Devaney and Sierra Devaney. Great Grandchildren: Amber Tinch, Andrew Tinch, Scotty Devaney, Kristina Greg Anderson, Danielle Eicks, Nicholas Eicks, Cody Earlywine, Victoria Dewitt, Chase Earlywine, Alexander Eppl, Kylee Eppl, Mackenzie Duncan, Daniel Duncan, Benjamin Eppl, Dustin Devaney, Ayden Ryan, Amanda Devaney and Nathan Devaney. Step Great Grandchildren: Chris Idlewine and Dwayne Morris. Great Great Granddaughters: Autumn Baker, Alivia Baker and Karly Anderson, who is due in December. Nephew: John Joan Dilkey. Niece: Betty Sloan. Special Cousins: Beth and Shelly. Also surviving are special friends Bill & Virginia Coverdale and Louise Sanfford. A special thanks to St. John's Health System Continued Care and St. John's Hospice. She was preceded by her husband: Floyd E. Devaney who passed away October 20, 1973.
