Ida F. Shuck

Ida Frances (Barney) Shuck, 98, passed away December 14, 2020, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus. She was born in rural Madison County on March 1, 1922, the daughter of Porter T. and Mary Frances (Hoel) Barney. She loved life on the farm west of Middletown with her parents, grandparents, and brother. Ida lived in the Middletown and Anderson area her entire life. She graduated from Markleville High School, beauty school in Indianapolis, and later went to business school. She retired from the Department of Public Welfare as a bookkeeper. Ida was a member of Pleasant Valley Church as a child and the Middletown Methodist Church as a young adult. Upon moving to Anderson, she became a member of East Side Church of God and considered that her home church until her death. Ida loved all crafts, but her passion, beyond her family, was oil painting. She loved her family and thoroughly enjoyed each visit, party, or gathering with them. She truly loved to laugh and have fun. Ida is survived by her daughter, Eudell (Ron) Huhn; grandchildren, Kimberly (Jim) Komosinski, Bradley (Amanda) Shuck, Joshua (Karen) Wehlage, Matt (Kim) Huhn, Amy (Jack) Kelly; great-grandchildren, Eric (Jessica) Komosinski, Marisa Komosinski, Cheyney Donovan, Rachel Wehlage, Norah Wehlage, Alisha Wehlage, William Kelly, Betsey Kelly, Katie Kelly; great-great-grandchild, Wesley Komosinski, and one on the way as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her very dear friend, Joan, who always kept her laughing, and her Crown Pointe of Anderson family who always showered her with love, kindness, and friendship. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and soul-mate of 73 years, William Earl Shuck, who passed away in 2014; her son, David L. Shuck, who left us too soon; her parents; her brother, Thomas A. (Mary Ellen) Barney; her dear cousin, Wanda Lewis, as well as her brothers and sisters-in-law with whom she had so much fun.
