Harold Morgan Curtis III

On June 4th , 2025, at Community Hospital in Anderson, Harold Morgan Curtis III passed away with his family by his side. He was born on October 18th, 1952, to his parents, Harold Curtis, Jr. and Hilda Rodriguez, with his brother Edd Curtis, all of whom he joined in Heaven. Harold had lived under the care of his son Shane Curtis, Shane's long term partner Crystal Weber, his two youngest grandchildren Shane, and Wyatt Curtis, and his beloved dog Jasmine for many years prior to his death. Harold had many accomplishments, graduating from Muncie Central High School was just one. Soon after, he bravely entered the U.S. Navy where he spent the next two years on the USS Saratoga and was part of the USS Enterprise Carrier Group. Harold was honorably discharged and went on to pass many amazing and funny stories to his children and grandchildren. In his early 20's, he met his wife, Barbara Hall and they married in the early 1970's. Their wedding was held in a church where all their friends and family gathered to witness their holy matrimony. At times, it seemed the world was against them, but through it all, they had each other and held on through many hardships. April 8th , 1980 they welcomed their first son, Shane Curtis, with loving arms and a fire in their hearts. Three years later, they had their second and final son Scott Curtis , whom they loved just the same. Harold spent many years of his life working as hard as he could to provide for his family making many friends along the way. Years later, at the age of 49 , he welcomed his first grandchild, Myah Curtis, whom he showered with love and affection. After one grandchild was born, three more soon followed: Hayleigh Sanders, Shane Curtis, and Wyatt Curtis. He loved all of them and spent every second he could with them. Some of his favorite hobbies included fishing, watching football, being outdoors, playing with his dog, Jasmine We'll start by saying he was one of a kind. He was the best kind of stubborn, loving, selfless, loyal, and forgiving. Even in his last moments, he didn't worry about himself; he worried for his family. The world truly lost one truly amazing person, and he will forever be missed. He is also survived by his niece, Sabrina Riley, three great-grandchildren Clementine Carmack, Dalilah Booker, and Patrick Dickey; and extended family, Bobbey and Brad Ricketts, and children and Elizabeth Rekynolds, and children. A graveside service is being held at the Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana with Celebrant Craig Malone officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Delaware County Honor Guard and the US Navy. Loose Funeral Home and Crematory is entrusted with these arrangements.
