Ferris M. Daugherty

Anderson - Ferris M. "Mike" Daugherty, 64, Anderson, passed away after a brief courageous battle with cancer on November 7, 2007 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson. He was born October 25, 1943 in Warren, Indiana, and resided in Anderson since 1961. He retired in 1999 from Magnequench Division of General Motors and Delco Remy. After retirement, he worked for Aramark Vending in Anderson, Muncie and Indianapolis for 7 years. Mike attended St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He had been with the auxillary police several years ago. He cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife whom he married November 17, 1962: Ruth Doerr Daugherty. Two sons: Robert M. Kim Daugherty of Anderson and William E. Shari Daugherty of Chesterfield. Mother: Evea Satterthwaite Daugherty of Middletown. Grandchildren: Tia Marie, Shelby Nicole, Jonathan Michael and four-day-old, Ryleigh Victoria Daugherty who, sadly he never had the chance to know and love. God giveth and God taketh away. Two brothers: Monte R. Daugherty of Anderson and Kevin Joyce Daugherty of Pendleton. Two sisters: Melody Chris Merritt of Pendleton and Melinda James Talbert of Middletown. Two half brothers: Gregg Cindy Daugherty and Brad Sarita Daugherty. Two half sisters: Cindy Ron Felver and Kim Kirk Heyde. Brother-in-law: Chris Kathy Doerr. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and his beloved four-legged "daddy's girl", Kewpie. He was preceded in death by his father: Ferris E. Daugherty, and sister-in-law: Doris J. Doerr Daugherty. The family wants to thank his brother-in-law, Chris Doerr, for helping through a courageous, trying time. Services will be Monday, November 12, 2007 at 1:00 PM, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel; 200 W. 53rd Street; Anderson, with nephews Rev. Brian Doerr and Rev. Richard Doerr officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson. Visitation will be from 2-6:00 PM on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the funeral home, south chapel and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
