Dannie Eugene Moreland

Anderson - Dannie Eugene Moreland, 68, Anderson, went home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2009 at Indiana Heart Institute Hospital at St. Vincent's in Indianapolis surrounded by family and friends. He was born October 28, 1940 in Noblesville, Indiana. The son of Charles D. Moreland, Dannie was raised by his grandparents. He lived in Anderson all of his life. Dannie served in the U.S. Army. He started working at Sun Valley Speedway May 9, 1964 and the Lincoln Street Auto Parts. Shortly after that time, Dannie acquired the business and became owner and operator. He then started up Twin Service Wrecking Company in the early 70's and operated the company up until he was hospitalized December 26, 2008. Dannie loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He also loved fishing with his nephew, Doug. This was his favorite pastime. When Dannie wasn't fishing or working with his business, he'd relax at the casino with family and lots of friends. He is survived by his daughters, his angel, Karla Moreland-Elliott & husband, Bobby, Karen Mays and Karol Moreland; son, Mikie Moreland; brother, Bob Moreland & wife, Diana; wife, Laura Sue Moreland; grandchildren, Jennifer Stamper & husband, Josh, Jessica Washington & husband, Myke Larye, Christopher Moreland & wife, Sara, Kyleigh Denham & husband, Thomas Turney, Devin McBride, Bobbi Elliott, Janay Alley, Michael Alley and Jack Welsh; great grandchildren, Lindsey, Joshua, Jacob, Jasmine, Weston, Easton, Ayden, Kaleb and Timothy; nieces, Debbie Moreland, Tina Swallows & husband, Elliott, and Brigette Moreland Van; nephews, Little Dannie Moreland and special nephew, Doug Moreland & wife, Ann Marie; beloved pets, Sweetie, Rocky and Dutchess; and special friends, Rick Shaw, Sonny Johnson, Sam Stottlemeyer with K & S, Tim and Angie Bowers, Keith Price, Roberto and Enrique Moreno, Joe Cox, Earl Lockridge, Whitey Coppess, Chiq Dennis, Earl Bowling with Kelli's Auction Company, Pat Capps, Bud & Jana McCorkle, Ryan Nealon and a host of many many friends. The family would like to give special thanks to St. John's Medical Staff on 5 south and the ICU CCU Unit. Dannie will be truly missed, gone but not forgotten. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Charles D. Moreland; and his beloved pets, Lady and Sparkie. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Friday, January 16, 2009 at the funeral home's south chapel. Services will be Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 2:30 PM, at Robert D.
