Dan K. Siktberg

Anderson - Dan K. Siktberg, 88, Anderson, died on June 7, 2008 surrounded by all of his immediate family. He was born in Lawrence County, Tennessee on March 17, 1920, son of Con and Hazel Siktberg. He lived 30 years in Miami County, Indiana, graduating from Kokomo High School in 1939. He served his country in the United States Army Signal Corps from 1942 to 1945. He married Mary Cagley in 1946, and they enjoyed a loving marriage for 62 years. He farmed in Miami County for 8 years and in Madison County for 14 years. He retired from farming in 1968. Dan then worked for General Motors for 21 years. He was a member of West Cross Street Alliance Church and served in many leadership positions, including Elder, Sunday School Superintendent, and Youth and Adult Sunday School Teacher. He was active in the Pendleton Garden Club and loved to watch things grow. He was also an avid supporter of area sports programs. Dan's entire life was devoted to three things: church, family, and friends. He was a devoted father and husband and deeply loved by all his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Con and Hazel Siktberg and his brother, Conrad Siktberg. Dan is survived by his wife, Mary Cagley Siktberg, his brothers, William Siktberg and Carl Siktberg; his son, Fred Linda Siktberg of Indianapolis; daughter, Ruth Jim Case of Burton, Michgan; daughter, Anna Jim Stern of Honolulu, Hawaii; and son, Tim Deborah Siktberg of Nashville, Tennessee. Dan and Mary were blessed with 14 grandchildren and five spouses; Paul and Andrea Siktberg, Brian and Jill Siktberg, Alan Siktberg, Annette Siktberg; Beth, Becky, Wendy and Maria Case, Carrie and Andrew Jensen, Mark and Sara Stern, Lori and Corey Magstadt, and Andy Stern; Jonathan and Jackson Siktberg. They are also blessed with 9 great grandchildren; Will, Addie and Hope Siktberg, Caleb, Elinor, Isaac and Hannah Jensen, Jaron and Lily Magstadt. Services will be Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 11:30 AM, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel; 200 W. 53rd Street; Anderson, with Rev. Robert Brown officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the funeral home, south chapel and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
