Charles Carlton Bolton

Charles Carlton Bolton 74 Devoted husband father and friend passed away at his residence on May 26, 2007 after a brief illness. He was born December 8, 1932 in Chaffee, Missouri but has resided in Anderson since 1937. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Ruby Higgenbotham and Charles M. Bolton. Charles was a graduate of Anderson High School and retired from the P.Q. Corporation after 46 years of service. Carley loved photography, basketball and auto racing. He followed the career of Lary Bird and the Boston Celtics and was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. As a young man he played basketball for the Anderson Duffy Packers. Charley had attended the Indianapolis 500 every year since 1953. He loved the month of May and going to the track with his friend Jim Haines. Charley was a member of the tracks ''Old Timers Club''. Charley has had 4 books published. His first was ''Championship Auto Racing thru the Years'' in 1966, 2 auto racing souvenir coloring books and his last book was about Johnny Parsons entitled ''Never Look Back''. The book was co-penned with his step brother Gary Delph in 2005. Charley was an easy going, laid back, fun loving fellow who made friends with everyone he met. He was respected and loved by his peers and family. Survivors include Charley's loving wife of 42 years, Myrna Snodgrass Bolton. A daughter Lori Bolton of Anderson. A son Bryan and fiancee Dana Kyle of Anderson. A daughter Nancy Bolton of Pahoa, Hawaii and a daughter Laura Bolton of Los Angeles, California. A sister Karen and husband Carl Baker of Anderson. Three grandsons Sean Stuart of Anderson, Kyle Ravenscraft of Anderson and Justin Bolton and wife Emily of Pendleton. Two great granddaughters, Madison and Cadence Bolton. Two nieces, Cindy and Autumn Stookey and very special friends Jim Haines, Larry Gaskill, Steve Sheets, Dave Cave, and many, many others. Services will be Thursday 5/31/2007 at 1:00 pm, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes- South Chapel, with Carl Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson . Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday 5/30/2007 at Robert D.
