Pauline C. Judkins

Muncie - Pauline C. Cummins Judkins, 89, Muncie, died July 5, 2002 at Ball Memorial Hospital-Muncie after a brief illness. She was born May 7, 1913 in Henry County, Indiana, and resided in Muncie. She lived in Anderson from 1949 to 1998, moving to Westminster Villiage in Muncie in 1998. She retired from Agriculture Soil Conservation Service in 1973 after 20 years of employment. She was a 1931 graduate of Straughn High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Anderson. She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army, Meadowbrook Condominium Committee and Contact Help. She served on the Vespers Committee and worked in the Village Store at Westminster Village. She is survived by her a son, Dr. David & wife Alice Judkins of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Anne & husband Douglas Martz of Atlanta, Georgia and Jayne & husband Bob Sample of Anderson; a sister, Geraldine Cummins Woodward Smalley Beeson; her grandchildren Bill Sample of Anderson, Susan & husband Ben Begley of Osh Kosh, Wisconsin, Bronwyn & husband John de Figuieredo of Boston, Massachusetts, Claire Judkins of Houston, Texas, Beth & husband Tom Kohler of Elgin, Illinois, Karen & husband Matt Bartholomew of Atlanta, Georgia and Eric & wife Heather Martz of Atlanta, Georgia; her great grandchildren Stephanie Begley, Aaron Begley, Melanie Begley, Monica Begley, Madeline de Figuieredo, Andrew de Figuieredo, Michael de Figuieredo, Zachary Kohler, Margaret Kohler, Nathaniel Kohler, Elliot Kohler, Kiera Martz and Sydney Martz; several nieces and nephews including Sammie Amick and family from Muncie and many friends from Westminster Village. She was preceded by her in death by her husband whom she married May 12, 1934 John H. Judkins, her parents Rufus Elbert & Grace Ward Cummins, three brothers Elbert Cummins, Gene Cummins, Jack Cummins and a sister Dorothy Cummins. Services will be Monday, July 8, 2002 at 11:00 AM, at First United Methodist Church, Anderson, with Rev. Bill Mathys officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Cambridge City. Visitation will be from 9-11:00 AM on Monday, July 8, 2002 at First United Methodist Church, Anderson.
